An Invitation to Worship at St. Agnes Parish

Come into this house of God and bring all that you are. We welcome you knowing that you are precious in God's sight. There are no perfect people in St. Agnes Parish, only imperfect ones; there is no need to check your failures at the door. Come in and be welcome if you are seeking; come in and be welcome if you are wandering; come in and be welcome if you are hurting; come in and be welcome because you are you and God loves you beyond measure. Come in to this house to find companionship, comfort, and compassion on your journey through life. Come, you are always welcome here.

Collaborative Committee Corner

A note from Fr. Platt:

“Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.” Psalm 66 How very appropriate is the Psalm response for this weekend’s liturgies. For it is during the liturgies of this weekend, that we celebrate the birth of a new family of faith: The Parish of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes.

I give thanks to God for the opportunity to serve as your new pastor. I give thanks to God for this new family, which will be a sign that there are no boundaries in the love of God. We will become one family crying out to God with joy. Through the efforts of the joint Collaborative Committee, we have begun a new journey with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray that I might be a good pastor, shepherding souls and inspiring this family with a missionary zeal for the Kingdom of God.

In the Gospel for today we read, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few, so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for the harvest.” Souls, both near and far, long to experience the salvific love of Jesus. We are the laborers who will be sent forth from this new family to help heal the brokenhearted and bring others to God. Let others who are searching for healing and hope see joy in our eyes and observe, in the words of St. Justin Martyr, “See how they love each other.” “Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.”

New Mass Schedules effective August 3 – 4
Beginning August 3 – 4, there will be new Mass Schedules at both St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes. Each Church will eliminate one Mass. St. Catherine of Siena will no longer have the 7:00 a.m. Saturday Mass in the Chapel and St. Agnes will no longer have the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday. It is Fr. Platt’s hope that as one parish we will all take the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist with each other at both locations. We are one family of faith.
